Emma Raducanu explains why she has faith in Carlos Alcaraz

Carlos Alcaraz had a fantastic and surprising 2022 finishing the year as the new world number 1. Some doubt that the 19-year-old can keep the top spot of the rankings next season also because Novak Djokovic is expected to have a full schedule.

Alexander Zverev has recently stated that even if Carlos Alcaraz did everything right to have so much success in 2022, he was also helped by the fact that Novak Djokovic could not play in many top tournaments because of his vaccination status.

Emma Raducanu believes that Carlos Alcaraz can keep his rank also in 2023. She recently commented:

“I actually believe he can stay number 1 in the world even for next year. He’s a very competitive guy and will never give up. When he wants something, he always makes sure to achieve it. I know this from my experience.”
