Stefanos Tsitsipas and Nick Kyrgios are part of the group of players who will compete in the Diriyah Tennis Cup in South Arabia on the 8th and 10th of December.
The winner will receive $1,000,000 and the runner-up $500,000. Nevertheless, Nick Kyrgios says that for him the most important thing is to involve new fans.
“I love travelling to places where you don’t know much about tennis, and trying to draw attention to the sport, I think it’s important,” said Kyrgios to 7Sport. “When I retire, I want to know that I have left something and get many new fans into the sport.”
Tsitsipas was also happy to have new fans watching professional tennis. He commented: “I’m happy they’re introducing a big event like this. And in the heart of Saudi Arabia to give opportunities to citizens from all over the world to explore this beautiful country, through its sports, through its very rich heritage and culture, and through other activities that are available within the country.”

Now ranked no.4, Stefanos played his last match on the 18th of November when he surrendered to world no.8 Andrey Rublev 3-6 6-3 6-2 in the round robin in the Nitto ATP Finals (draw).
During this season Tsitsipas has managed to achieve a 61-24 win-loss record. Tsitsipas conquered 2 titles in 2022 in Monte-Carlo and Mallorca. The Greek was the runner-up in Rotterdam, Rome, Cincinnati, Astana and Stockholm.
Nick Kyrgios in 2022
Ranked world no.22, Kyrgios played his last match on the 6th of October when he overcame world no.77 Kamil Majchrzak 3-6 6-2 6-2 in the 2nd round in Tokyo (draw).
During this season the Australian has managed to achieve a compiled 37-10 record. This year, the Australian clinched 1 title in Washington. Nick was the runner-up in Wimbledon.
Stefanos Tsitsipas and Nick Kyrgios clashed against each other 5 times. Their head to head is 4-1 for Kyrgios. The last time they squared off, Nick Kyrgios won 6-7(2) 6-4 6-3 7-6(7) in the 3rd round in London (Wimbledon) on the 2nd of July 2022.
