Sascha Bajin and Karolina Pliskova decide to work together again. The German coach who guided the Wimbledon finalist and former world number one last year will be in assist her return to the courts in 2023.
When Caroline was ranked No. 6 in the WTA rankings in November 2020, Sascha Bajin (38) took over as her coach. Karolina briefly dropped out of the top 10 following the start of the collaboration, but she quickly rebounded in 2021 by reaching the finals in Rome, Montreal, and the aforementioned Grand Slam at the All England Club, moving up to the third spot in the rankings. After 20 months of collaboration, they eventually parted ways in July of this year.
“I am returning mainly because I still believe I can help Carolina with my insights. Her game has gradually improved since her hand injury and in my eyes she has proven that she can still compete with the best in the world. We will want to build on these performances and that is why we have decided to renew our connection! I can’t wait to sit in her corner again,” commented Bajin.
Karolina is scheduled to play 2 tournaments in Adelaide before competing at the Australian Open.

Ranked world no.31, Karolina played her last match on the 12th of November when she lost to world no.12 Belinda Bencic 6-2 7-6(6) in the Rubber 2 in (draw).
At the moment, during this season Pliskova has achieved an overall 21-21 win-loss record. Karolina Pliskova’s best accomplishment of the current season was reaching the semifinal in Strasbourg and Toronto.
