Tim Henman says Emma Raducanu’s effort to get fitter is on track after a hiring new fitness coach

Emma Raducanu has set out to toughen up while preventing injury. The British sensation has been plagued by injuries in 2022.

After deciding to team up with fitness coach Jez Green, Emma Raducanu is, in Tim Henman’s opinion, on the right track.

The first year Raducanu spent competing on the WTA Tour was physically demanding, struggling with also several issues. Emma has set out to toughen up while preventing injury after she has been plagued by injuries and a persistent blister issue. The preparation and training of Raducanu have drawn considerable controversy, with people even wrongly questioning her commitment.

Talking with The Times, Henman commented: “For Emma, working with Jez Green, doing the track work, the gym work, using his experience and knowledge allied with her work ethic, she’ll definitely be fitter, stronger, faster. Having seen her train over the last four to six weeks, she’s really putting in those hard yards to build that resilience.”
