The Diriyah Tennis Cup, according to Stefanos Tsitsipas, will offer the best preseason training and a fantastic chance to grow the sport in Saudi Arabia.
From December 8–10, 12 of the top male tennis players will compete in the Diriyah Tennis Cup, which is held at a Unesco World Heritage Site outside of Riyadh.
Former No. 1 Daniil Medvedev, No. 8 Andrey Rublev, No. 10 Taylor Fritz, No. 12 Alexander Zverev, No. 14 Cameron Norrie, Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios, No. 2 Dominic Thiem, and No. 3 Stan Wawrinka will all be playing alongside Tsitsipas.
The Diriyah Tennis Cup will provide the players with some high-level and competitive matches as they continue to train for the Australian Open in January, given the strength of the field that has so far been confirmed.
Tsitsipas commented: “This is going to be very good preparation for me. Most players choose to have an off period from tennis but for me, it’s very important to get matches in before I travel to Australia.
“So having good competitors to compete against (top players), this is the best preparation that I can have before starting the 2023 season.”
