Holger Rune had an amazing performance during the last part of this season, breaking in the top 10. After the US Open, the Danish teenager won Stockholm and the ATP 1000 in Paris and he was the runner-up in Basel. His last match of the year was when he defeated the great Novak Djokovic in the final in Paris and that is a great way to end his season.
Rune world no.1 in 2023?
Holger is the alternate number 1 at the current ATP Finals in Turin. Now ranked no.10 (career-high), the Dane played his last match on the 6th of November when he beat world no.8 Novak Djokovic 3-6 6-3 7-5 in the final in Paris to win his 3rd career title.
Currently, during this season Rune owns an overall 50-27 match record. The Dane has won 4 titles in 2022 in the Sanremo Challenger, Munich, Stockholm and Paris. Rune reached the final in Sofia and in Basel.
