Roger Federer has just retired from professional tennis after a rather emotional farewell during the last Laver Cup in London in September. The Swiss sensation is now getting used to his new normal and indeed, he believes that he has a much lighter life. Roger admitted that life on tour is extremely tough and there is always pressure.

An easier life for Federer

During a recent interview, Roger gave examples of how his life has improved compared with what he used to do in the previous 25 years. For example, Federer revealed that he had to spend at least one hour a day just filling out doping forms. In addition, even if there was nothing to hide, it was always in the back of their mind that doping control could arrive at any moment of the day.

“Doping as an example. We have to fill out doping forms every single day, one hour during the day, where you are. You’re always aware in the back of your head that they could be coming any moment, especially in that hour,” said Roger.

Federer concluded that when competing, he was not really aware anymore of how his life was restricted to all sorts of procedures.
