Daniil Medvedev lost and heartbreaking match on Friday against Novak Djokovic at the ATP Finals in Torino. That was a dead rubber but the outcome of the encounter was quite painful for the Russian player, who had the opportunity to serve out the match when leading 5-4 in the decider. Daniil seemed to be destined to win the match also because Novak Djokovic was struggling with his body having problems keeping his balance and even shaking uncontrollably during a changeover. However, the Serbian ace found the solution again, winning the match 6-3 6-7(5) 7-6(2).
‘No positives’ – Medvedev
During the press conference that followed the match, Daniil Medvedev looked quite dejected. When asked if he could see any positive from this encounter, he replied: “No, that’s my answer, sorry. I mean, I guess was a good fight, but no positives, no.”
“Super easy, I sucked. That’s what happened. It’s a disaster. What I’m really happy is that this match didn’t count in going out of the group, otherwise I would have two matches where I lost serving for the match. At least this one didn’t count.”
