Rafael Nadal is one of those tennis players who are extremely shy but, when they compete, become true gladiators. Rafa is currently coached by former world number 1, fellow Mallorcan and dear friend Carlos Moya. During a recent interview, Moya recalled when he first practiced with Rafa when he was just 12 years old. While Carlos was not overly impressed by Nadal, it was striking for him how shy was the little kid. “We met and shook hands, but he didn’t even look at me and uttered a syllable barely,” said Moya.

Now the world no.2, Rafael played his last match on the 17th of November when he overcame world no.4 Casper Ruud 7-5 7-5 in the round robin in the Nitto ATP Finals (draw). Despite his recent win, Nadal is out from the ATP Finals after he lost the the previous 2 matches against the Taylor Fritz and the Felix Auger-Aliassime

This year the Spaniard has achieved a composed 39-8 win-loss record. Nadal has won 4 titles in 2022 in Melbourne, Australian Open, Acapulco and French Open. The Spaniard was the runner-up in Indian Wells. Rafael Nadal suffered several injuries again this year. The Spanish champion had a lot of foot pain at the beginning of the season, but he was able to find a solution with the help of Dr. Cotorro. This did not prevent him from winning the Australian Open and Roland Garros, extending his all-time Grand Slam lead over Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer.
