Carlos Alcaraz was extremely disappointed for not being able to play in the ATP Finals in Torino after getting an abdominal injury. However, the Spanish sensation had to go anyway to Italy not to play in the season’s finale but to receive his well-deserved trophy for being the year-end world no.1.
Carlito was quite emotional during the ceremony. He said he was sorry for not being able to play ATP Final and thanked the tennis fans for their enthusiasm. He ended the speech by talking in Italian, saying: “Thanks a lot to everyone and see you next year.”

Carlito is now recovering from his abdominal injury. It will take 6 weeks to recover and for this reason, he will not also play the Davis Cup and the United Cup. Instead, he has planned to play only a couple of exhibition matches at the Kooyong Classic
(January 10-12).Now ranked no.1, Carlos played his last match on the 4th of November when he had to retire when playing against world no.10 Holger Rune in the quarter and the scoreline was 6-3 6-6 .
