WTA has finally announced its new calendar for the 2023 season through the US Open. The organization has introduced new tournaments in Austin (US) and Merida (Mexico). It is still unclear what will happen in the last part of the season. Before the coronavirus pandemic, the last quarter of the WTA calendar was usually dedicated to the so-called Asian swing. However, after Covid and following the huge controversy about Peng Shuai, it does not seem that the WTA Tour will be back in China any soon. New announcements will be made in the future.
