Wozniacki disintegrates Errani

That was absolutely nasty! Caroline Wozniacki concedes just a miserable game to Sara Errani in the US Open quarter final.

The match was never there with the former world no.1 winning in just 65 minutes firing 26 winners (10 unforced errors).

This is the first final in a slam for Caro since 2011 Us Open.

Wozniacki: I knew I had to be aggressive

The Dane commented “I always go out there and believe I’m going to play well, and I had a game plan in mind.  went for my shots. I knew I had to be aggressive but not too aggressive, kind of find a balance between finding the opening, then really going for my shots whenever I had the opportunity for it.

“I’ve played so well here in the past. It’s such an amazing atmosphere on Arthur Ashe Stadium. It’s tricky sometimes with the wind, but I know how to adapt, and it’s been working out well so far.”

Errani: It was too strong physically

The Italian admitted that Wozniacki was better prepared “I think she was much stronger than me physically tonight. She doesn’t let you play. She never misses. And every point was a long point, and it made me feel worse, physically. I tried to change my game in the second set to be much more aggressive, and I tried to go into the net more, because on the baseline she was killing me – but it was difficult. She was playing too solid.”

Next vs. Shuai Peng

Caroline will play a surprising Shuai Peng in the semifinal. Head to head is 5-1 for the Dane. Wozniacki has to be careful against the Chinese that has never dropped a single set in the tournament so far.
