Lorenzo Musetti was hoping to have a good run at the Next-Gen Finals but that didn’t really happen. The Italian player did not manage to qualify for the semifinals after losing to an inspired Jack Draper with a straightforward 4-1 4-0 4-3(3).
Soon after the match against the British player, Lorenzo admitted that he was struggling with his energy and motivation.
“There is no problem with the hand. The problem was almost everywhere. Surely the tiredness at the end of the season was seen, I was unable to recover from the demanding match with Stricker.
I had already understood this morning from how I woke up: I was undecided whether to play or not, then I decided to do it and out of respect for the public who supported me these days I tried to do something, even if it was not enough. Jack was immediately good at imposing his game. Finally, a moment of rest has come before the Davis Cup.”
