Mega aggressive Federer reaches the US Open quarters

The more Roger Federer ages the more he gets to the net!

The Swiss Maestro had another great performance at the 2014 US Open to concede just 9 games to a dangerous Bautista-Agut to win 6-4 6-3 6-2.

Federer: I am happy I feel good at the net

Roger went to the net 50 times against the Spaniard to comment “I used to serve/volley some myself when conditions were faster and my baseline game wasn’t as good. I’m happy I’m able to come forward now because coming to net requires a lot of agility and explosiveness and I have it back. I’m happy I’m feeling good at net because you’ve got to anticipate some, read some and it’s working really well. I hope I can keep it up.”

Next. Vs. Monfils

Roger will play Gael Monfils in the quarters. Head to head is 7-2 for the Maestro that is the hot favorite for the semis.

Talking about the upcoming quarter Roger commented I know exactly how I need to play him. It’s very clear cut in my opinion. I know I’ll be coming in; he knows he’ll be defending. He’ll be wanting to serve well and play big as well. So we both know what to expect going in.”
