
Carlos Alcaraz had to withdraw on Friday in the Paris quarterfinals when he was facing Holger Vitus Nodskov Rune. The Spanish sensation was struggling with an abdominal injury and he had to pull the plug when he was 3-6 6-6 (1-3).
The world number 1 was fast to get to Twitter and congratulate Rune. He acknowledged that he was indeed the better player.
‘Holger was better today and deserved to win! It was difficult to withdraw, but I was scared of making it worse. Health comes first,” tweeted Carlito.
Alcaraz revealed that he is not even sure if he will be fit to play in the ATP Finals. He will go back home to do some tests.
