This time Roger’s service game wasn’t as spotless as usual. The Maestro was broken on 2 occasions on 2 break points.  On the other side he broke Groth’s serve 5 times (45% conversion). Match Stats.

Roger

The Maestro commented about facing a big server like Groth “It’s always an unbelievable challenge playing big servers. He’s got unbelievable power so my arm’s still vibrating a bit.”

Next vs. Granollers

Roger will play Granollers in the 3rd round. Head to head is 2-0 for Roger that won both matches in the second round in Dubai (2011 and 2013) and with the same result (6-3 6-4).
