Doctor Cotorro is not sure when Nadal will be able to compete

Rafal Nadal is not able to sustain 2 weeks playing long matches at best of 5, this is the response of Doctor Cotorro.

Cotorro: We do not have an official date …

According to Rafa’s Doctor “An official date for a comeback has yet to be decided or confirmed. Initially we spoke about three weeks, but it was honestly impossible to heal the injury back in time for the US Open.

Rafael wouldn’t have been ready to face two weeks of intense tennis at the best of five sets. Athletes play in these tournaments only if they are in top form”.

… Rafa didn’t have enough time to recover

Then he added “Rafael did everything he could to play, practicing hard every single day. He just didn’t have enough time on his side. He would have wanted to be in New York, but he knew from the start of the treatment that it would have been very hard to make it.

We will continue the treatment with physiotherapy and rehabilitation, we will do undertake further tests in the upcoming days, but really, we currently can’t give a date for Rafael’s comeback”.

Rafa is now facing another threat as Federer is now “attacking” the second spot in the rankings (see how Roger can do it).

In the mean time we can only hope for a prompt recovery.
