Roger Federer reaches the quarters in Cincinnati after beating a good Monfils.

The Swiss Maestro had to dig dip against the world no.23. After exchanging the first 2 sets, Roger had to defend 3 break points at the beginning of the decider to finally conquer the decisive break in the 8th game (5-3). Eventually Roger won 6-4 4-6 6-3 in 1 hours and 48 minutes.

This time Roger’s strength wasn’t his serve, but his return game “I thought I returned pretty well tonight… much better than I have in my previous matches. That’s really what kept me calm throughout the match. I tried to come forward because the conditions are quite fast here. I think that was a good tactic out here tonight.”
