Simona Halep and Patrick Mouratoglou started a great partnership this year. However, the Romanian sensation decided to take a break from tennis also to have a nose operation. That means that Simona will skip the rest of the season.
Coach Mouratoglou had the green light from Simona to collaborate with Holger Rune, who is also used to training at Patrick’s academy. It is not clear what will happen when Halep will be back to competition.
This was the statement from Mouratoglou.
While @Simona_Halep takes time to recover, she encouraged me to seek a new collaboration.
Today, I’m pleased to announce that I’m joining @holgerrune2003’s team.
I’m really excited to start working with Holger. We’ve had a special bond since the day we met, when he was just 13. pic.twitter.com/Iv5IBG2Wko
