Bouchard loses her 3rd consecutive match in Cincinnati

This American Summer couldn’t be any worst for Genie Bouchard. The Wimbledon runner-up crashes in the first round of both Montreal and Cincinnati.

Svetlana Kuznetsova had a great start to lead 6-4 1-0 to then face a great come back from Genie that won the second set 6-3. The decider was even in the first part (2-2), then the Russian made a move to win 4 consecutive games and grab the match 6-4 3-6 6-2.

Kuznetsova: There were some ups and downs

The former world no.2 commented “It was a little bit up and down but I think we both played .  really raised her level in the second and third sets, but I was defending really well, and it was just a really exciting match for me to play out there. It was a great atmosphere. Thanks to everybody for coming out.”

Next vs. Ivanovic

Svetlana will play Ana Ivanovic for a place in the quarters. Head to head is 9-3 for Ana that is the favorite to get to the last 8.
