Sharapova is the top paid female athlete for the 10th consecutive year

Maria Sharapova is 2-16 down in H2H matches against Serena, but this doesn’t prevent her to still be the Queen in terms of sponsorships.

This is the 10th consecutive year that Maria leads all the female athletes around the world in terms of total earnings.

According to Forbes, the Russian Beauty earned more than $24 million from June 2013 to June 2014. $2.4 million came from prize money and the rest from endorsements from companies such as Nike, Porsche, Samsung Electronics, Tag Heuer, Evian and Head.

In the second place we have another tennis player: world no.3 Na Li. The Chinese earned $23.6 million of which $5.6 million in prize money.

In the third place we have world no.1 Serena Williams ($22 million of which $11 million in prize money).

Finally we have a not-tennis-player in the 4th position: it’s the figure skater Kim Yuna.
