ATP Rankings: Federer consolidates 3rd place, Tsonga back in top10, Janowicz in free fall

Toronto was a great tournament for both Roger Federer and Jo Wilfred Tsonga

Federer

Roger reached the finals in Canada to consolidate his 3rd place after widening the gap with Wawrinka (now 820pts below the Maestro). If the Maestro has great results at Cincinnati and the US Open he may become the world no.2 if Rafa won’t make it for the last slam. It’s quite a long shot… but you’ll never know.

Tsonga

Jo wins the title in Toronto to climb 5 places and be ranked world no.10. If the Frenchman will play the same tennis in the following months he will definitely go for more.

Janowicz

Jerzy crashed out in Toronto opener to lose 13 places and be ranked no.65. If he doesn’t recover he may even crash out the top100. Not good

Baghdatis

Marcus has won his back to back Challenger 100 (now in Aptos) to gain 24 places and finally get back in the top100 (now 82). More to come.

Matosevic

Marinko couldn’t even qualify for Toronto to lose tons of points (he reached the quarters last year at the Rogers Cup). The Australian goes down 30 places to be ranked no. 89.
