Nick Kyrgios looked in fantastic form in Tokyo, where he reached the quarterfinals in singles and the semifinals in doubles. Unfortunately, something went south with his body and he had to concede a walkover to his dear friend Taylor Fritz who had a green pass for the semifinal.
Nick admitted that he felt something was not right in his knee when he was warming up with Thanasi Kokkinakis.
Nick revealed: “It’s the better option for my body. I have to be smart and after hitting with Thanasi today, I feel that this is the best thing to do. I have a couple of tournaments at the end of the year and wanna do well there.”

Now the world no.11 (career-high), Taylor achieved a composed 39-17 record in 2022. Fritz is participating in Tokyo where he ousted the world no.109 James Duckworth 6-2 6-72 6-1, the world no.253 Hiroki Moriya 6-1 3-6 6-4 and the world no.20 Nick Kyrgios w/o.
The American has won 2 titles in 2022 in Indian Wells and in Eastbourne.
He is also scheduled to play in Vienna (Erste Bank Open) on the 24th of October and () on the 31st of October.
