Tsonga humiliates Djokovic in Toronto!

Can you believe it?

Jo Wilfred Tsonga dismisses world no.1 Novak Djokovic 6-2 6-2 in just 63 minutes! In order to beat Novak Djokovic nowadays you need to have a critical combination: Nole has to play not at his very best (quite unluckily), the opponent has to play really well. Even if this happens you always expect a close encounter. That wasn’t the case on Thursday.

Jo played at his very best against an “out-of-sync” Djokovic to leave not much to the Serbian. Eventually the Frenchman scored 75 points vs. Djokovic’s 41 and he broke Nole 4 times without conceding a single service game. Match Stats.

Djokovic: Nothing really worked

Nole was very upset for his performance “Congratulations to Jo. He played some great tennis. Served very well. He was obviously the better player on the court. I hadn’t played even close to what I intended before going to the court. Just nothing was going. No baseline, no serve, no return. Generally a very bad day, very poor performance. Couldn’t do much.”

Tsonga: I feel good

Jo was of a very different mood to comment “I’m working hard every day. It’s not every day you get the rewards of what you’re doing every day during the year. You leave your family, practice hard, suffer a lot on the court. And when you win a match like this, you just feel good.”

Next vs. Murray

Tsonga will now play Murray. Head to head is 9-1 of Andy, but Tsonga might have an edge against the Scott this time.
