Toronto. Raonic has a very narrow escape against Sock

Tough luck for Jack Sock. The American is really coming right with his tennis and he had high hopes of beating Raonic in Toronto, that didn’t happen, but Jack wasn’t that far.

The upcoming American won the first set 6-4 and he managed not to drop a single service game, but that wasn’t enough. Raonic once again took good care of his potent serve to win the following two sets at the tie breaks. Eventually Milos fired 15 aces and he was highly successful especially on his 2nd serve (he won 24 of 37 points). The final result was 4-6 7-6 (2) 7-6 (4).Match Stats

Raonic: I have very good chances when I play tie breaks.

Milos commented “I feel good in those situations, especially if things are not going throughout the set the way I would have liked. I’m not converting opportunities or giving away too many opportunities. I know that if I can get it to a tie-break, I can sort of tip things in my favor.”

Next vs. Benneteau

Milos will play world no.47 Julien Benneteau. Head to head is 2-1 for the Canadian that is definitely the favorite to reach the 3rd round.
