On Sunday, Stefanos Tsitsipas participated in the recent Laver Cup in London where he lost the final match against Frances Tiafoe. The world number 6 had 4, match points but he was unable to convert any of them. Tennis fans were not impressed with Team World’s Tommy Paul for what he said during a changeover.
Daddy’s jokes and bullying
Stefanos Tsitsipas is well known for having a complicated relationship with his father Apostolos, who is often accused of coaching. Paul said he would try to get into Stefanos’ head with ‘daddy jokes.’ As per the following comments, the fans didn’t like the comment. This is what happened.

Stefanos Tsitsipas in 2022
Now ranked no.6, the Greek played his last match on the 25th of September when he lost to world no.19 Francis Tiafoe 1-6 7-6(11) 10-8 in the round robin in the Laver Cup (draw).
Presently, during this year Tsitsipas has an overall 47-18 win-loss record. The Greek has won 2 titles in 2022 in Monte-Carlo and Mallorca. The Greek got to the final in Rotterdam, in Rome and in Cincinnati.
Tsitsipas has scheduled to compete next in Nur-Sultan (Astana Open). He will start from the main draw on the 3rd of October.
Tommy Paul in 2022
LLWWWWLLWW Currently the world no.28 (career-high), Tommy played his last match on the 17th of September when he lost to world no.52 Tallon Griekspoor 7-5 7-6(3) in the Rubber 1 of the Davis Cup (draw).
This season Tommy achieved a compiled 33-23 match record. Tommy Paul’s best result of the current year was reaching the semifinal in Delray Beach.
He is also scheduled to play in Stockholm (Stockholm Open) after Gijon. The main draw will start on the 10th of October.
Stefanos Tsitsipas and Tommy Paul faced off just on 2 occasions. Their current head to head is 2-0 for Tsitsipas. Before, the last time they competed against each other, Stefanos Tsitsipas won 6-1 6-4 in the 2nd round in Lyon (Open Parc) in May 2021.
