At only 19 years of age, Carlos Alcaraz is the new world number 1. The Spanish sensation has incredible tennis thanks also to his amazing fitness. Nevertheless, it was interesting to know from his coach Juan Carlos Ferrero that when he met Carlito for the first time, he had no muscles at all.

After Alcaraz won the US Open, coach Ferrero revealed: “When he arrived at the academy, he was a noodle, he was quick, but he didn’t have muscles, but we did see something very special.”

Juan Carlos also said that when he was younger, Carlito had already good tennis. He added:

“I saw him for the first time when he was 12 or 13 years old. He came to the academy and we trained one day. He was very small but you could see that everyone was talking about him. He had everything he has now, but in a small way,”
