Agnieszka Radwanska is not having a great moment. The Pole has been struggling with her tennis for some time and she is definitely not taking advantage of the weaknesses and poor results of her closest competitors (Serena, Na Li etc.)
Now Agnieszka crashes out in the Stanford opener against world no. 59 Varvara Lepchenko that won 6-3 3-6 6-4.
After the match Varvara commented “I have a friend who is suffering from cancer whom I’ve known since I was 16. He lives real close and always comes to my matches here. I wanted to win this one for him to give him a little inspiration to keep on fighting his illness.
Even though I lost to Agnieszka many times before, I fought until the end, never let go and came out on top.”
Varvara will play the next match against world no. 193 Sachia Vickery. She should make her friend happy once more
