It is now official, on Friday Roger Federer will play the last match of his outstanding career in doubles alongside his dear friend Rafael Nadal. Roger and Rafa will challenge Jack Sock and Frances Tiafoe in the Laver Cup first doubles match. The match will be the last one of day one. It is expected to start by 9:00 pm after the match between Andy Murray and Alex De Minaur
Roger and Rafa played doubles together for the first time in 2017 offering fantastic entertainment. Rogers said that playing in his last match with Nadal would have been his dream.

Rafael Nadal in 2022
Currently ranked no.3, Nadal played his last match on the 5th of September when he lost to world no.19 Francis Tiafoe 6-4 4-6 6-4 6-3 in the 4th round of the U.S. Open (draw).
This year Rafael has an overall 38-5 match record. Rafael clinched 4 titles in 2022 in Melbourne, Australian Open, Acapulco and French Open. Rafael got to the final in Indian Wells.
Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal fought against each other 40 times. Their head to head is 24-16 for Nadal. Previously, the last time they competed against each other, Roger Federer won 7-6(3) 1-6 6-3 6-4 in the semifinal in London (Wimbledon) in July 2019.

During this season Jack has a 30-17 match record. This year, Sock conquered 1 title in the Savannah Challenger. Jack was the finalist in the Ilkley Challenger.
Frances Tiafoe in 2022
Currently ranked no.19 (career-high), Frances played his last match on the 9th of September when he capitulated to world no.1 Carlos Alcaraz 6-7(6) 6-3 6-1 6-7(5) 6-3 in the semifinal in the U.S. Open (draw).
At present, during this year Tiafoe has a 26-19 record. Frances Tiafoe’s most significant achievement of this season was getting to the final in Estoril.
Jack Sock and Frances Tiafoe have never played each other until now in top events.
