Federer can become world no.2 after Nadal’s injury

Yesterday we had the terrible news that Rafael Nadal got injured to his right wrist while he was training. This means that Rafa won’t definitely play in Toronto and Cincinnati and it is not clear if he will make it for the US Open.

Last year Rafa had an amazing American Summer to win all three big tournaments and if he will not be able to play the entire American Swing he will lose 4000pts. Federer could benefit from that.

Federer no.2?

If Rafa won’t play also the US Open (we really hope not!), he will be 2600pts above Roger (8670 – 6070 -> see rankings). At this point Roger may surpass Nadal if he wins the US Open and he reaches the final in both Toronto and Cincinnati, or he wins both Toronto and Cincinnati and he reaches the final at the US Open.

This is absolutely “fanta tennis”, but we are sure that Roger will try to go for it. By the way, having Rafa back would be priceless.

Let’s see!
