Shocking: Nadal withdraws from Toronto and Cincinnati for wrist injury!

Terrible news for Rafa’s fans! Nadal won’t be able to play in Toronto and Cincinati due to a wrist injury.

Apparently Rafa got injured while he was training. The only good news is that we are talking about his right wrist, so only his two-handed backhand would be affected and if the injury is nasty he should recover pretty soon. Apparently Rafa needs to immobilize his wrist for 2 or 3 weeks.

From Rafa

The world no.2 commented “I’m extremely disappointed that I am unable to defend my Rogers Cup title this year. I was looking forward to coming there and playing again in Toronto as I have always loved to play in Canada and had great results in the past at a very important event. Unfortunately I injured myself yesterday during practice and after checking with my doctors I will have to stay out of competition for at least 2-3 weeks. I am sorry to the tournament and to all of the fans.”

Let’s hope Rafa will make it for the US Open!
