Roger Federer has just announced his retirement from professional tennis. He may play the last match of his great career in doubles on Friday alongside Rafael Nadal. Unfortunately, it seems that Federer does not have the level to properly compete in singles and therefore, according to reports he will play only one match in doubles during this Laver Cup.
Roger is widely expected to partner with his great rival and friend Rafael Nadal against Team World. They captured the imagination of tennis fans in 2017 when they played doubles together for Team Europe in the first edition of the Laver Cup.
No singles for Federer in his last pro event.
Thought he would play on Sunday, in the last day of the event, but looks like just one doubles match on Friday is the plan… https://t.co/h1x4jSh9sC
