Roger Federer has just announced his retirement and many wonders if he will pursue a coaching activity. During a recent interview, Carlos Alcaraz was asked if he would like to be coached by the Swiss Maestro who is his childhood idol. The world no.1 is currently coached by Juan Carlos Ferrero and they share a special relationship. Therefore, Carlito answered:
“I couldn’t [replace Ferrero with Federer]. I’ve always said that Juan Carlos is my second father, he wouldn’t change him for the world.”

Ranked no.1, Carlos played his last match on the 18th of September when he defeated world no.74 Soon-Woo Kwon 6-4 7-6(1) in the Rubber 2 of the Davis Cup (draw).
Currently, during this year Carlos has achieved a composed 52-10 record. Carlos has won 5 titles in 2022 in Rio de Janeiro, Miami, Barcelona, Madrid and U.S. Open. The Spaniard was the finalist in Hamburg and in Umag.
Alcaraz has scheduled to compete next in Nur-Sultan (Astana Open). He will begin to play the tournament from the main draw on the 3rd of October.
