16-year-old upsets Stosur in Stanford!

When Sam Stosur trashed Serena Williams in the 2011 US Open final, Naomi Osaka was just 12-year-old.

4 years down the line Naomi pulls out a great upset to take out Sam in the Stanford first round. The match was a 2 hours and half battle with the Japanese winning 4-6 7-6 (7) 7-5. Naomi got it after saving a match point in the second set tiebreak when she was 6-7 down.

Osaka: This is my second-best win

Ranked world no. 406, Naomi said that this wasn’t her best win (???) “I don’t know anyone who goes into a match thinking they don’t deserve to be here, and I think I do deserve to be here. It’s probably the second-best win of my life, the first being when I first beat my sister.”

Naomi will play Petkovic in the second round.  Would this be another upset?
