Nadal, Alcaraz and their emotional messages for Federer after his retirement

This is what Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz said about Roger Federer's retirement

Federer With Nadal And Alcaraz

Roger Federer shocked the tennis world after announcing his retirement on Thursday. It was in a way expected that the Swiss legend would have retired this year. Nevertheless, he has represented tennis so well during the last 24 years of his amazing career that it seems as no one was really prepared for the sad news. Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz are among the players who have shared the message for Roger.

Rafael Nadal

Rafa was probably the biggest rival of the Swiss sensation. They used to fight all over the world for many years for the most important titles. Fortunately, they enjoyed a very healthy rivalry without losing respect for each other. They also enjoyed a great relationship outside the tennis court.

“I wish this day would have never come… it’s a sad day for me personally and for sports people around the world. I said it to you when we spoke and now it’s here.

It’s been a pleasure but also an honor and privilege to share all these years with you, living so many amazing moments on and off the court. We will have many more moments to share together in the future, there are still lots of things to do together, we know that.

For now, I truly wish you all the happiness with your wife, Mirka, your kids, your family and enjoy what’s ahead of you. I’ll see you in London at the @lavercup.”

Carlos Alcaraz

The new world number 1 has always stated that Roger Federer is his biggest childhood idol. Carlito has recently expressed his wish to play with Roger once in his life. Unfortunately, that will not happen, at least on the main tour. Alcaraz posted the following message:

“Roger has been one of my idols and a source of inspiration! 🥲 Thank you for everything you have done for our sport! ❤️ I still want to play with you! 🥹 Wish you all the luck in the world for what comes next! 💪🏻 @rogerfederer
