Carlos Alcaraz won the recent US Open after an extenuating campaign. The Spanish sensation could not miss competing in the Davis Cup despite the fact that he was exhausted after the American slam.

It was plausible to expect that Carlito would take at least a one week break from tennis. Nevertheless, the new world number 1 was too excited to defend the colors of his country.

During a recent interview, Alcaraz revealed:

“Very proud to arrive as No. 1 and do my bit for the team. Playing the Davis Cup is always special, it’s a unique atmosphere and I’m looking forward to being with the team.”

Carlito will not play on day one on Wednesday against Serbia, but he is expected to play later in the week against Team Canada and the Korea Republic.
