Carlos Alcaraz conquered his first Grand Slam title last week after winning the US Open. The Spanish player is well known for being extremely humble. During an interview with the New York time he was very straightforward in saying that he was lucky that Novak Djokovic could not play the American major.

Djokovic was not able to enter the US territory because he decided not to be vaccinated against the coronavirus.

The Spanish teenager admitted:

“Look, I don’t want to take credit away from myself, but it’s true that Rafa, Djokovic, Federer, they were in a period when they were all playing. I had the luck or whatever you want to call it that Djokovic could not play.
