Carlos Alcaraz defeated Casper Ruud on Sunday to conquer the US Open title. Soon after winning the match, the Spanish teenager went straight to his player’s box to thank his team and give a hug to his father and also his coach Juan Carlos Ferrero.
Later, Carlito stressed the importance of Juan Carlos Ferrero for his incredible success. Alcaraz commented:
“Thanks to him I’m lifting this trophy today. If I didn’t have Juan Carlos Ferrero in the box, Juan Carlos my coach, it wouldn’t be possible for me. Juan Carlos is my second father. He could train a lot of top players but he decides to be with me.”

Now the world no.1, Alcaraz played his last match on the 11th of September when he defeated world no.2 Casper Ruud 6-4 2-6 7-6(1) 6-3 in the final of the U.S. Open to win his 6th career title.
During this season the Spaniard achieved a 51-9 match record. Alcaraz clinched 5 titles in 2022 in Rio de Janeiro, in Miami, in Barcelona, in Madrid and at the U.S. Open. Carlos was the finalist in Hamburg and in Umag.
