Karen Khachanov played a fantastic quarter-final against Nick Kyrgios who was considered the hot favourite to win the US Open. Instead, the Russian player was in grade 4 to beat Kyrgios in 5 sets 7-5 4-6 7-5 6-7³ 6-4.

Karen had his lovely wife Veronika Shkliaeva in his player’s box happy with his incredible achievement. Veronika is Karen’s childhood sweetheart and they started dating since 2011. They had their child, David, on 14 September 2019.

The Russian is currently having a run at the U.S. Open where he toppled the world no.96 Denis Kudla 3-6 6-1 6-2 6-2, the world no.67 Thiago Moura Monteiro 6-3 6-3 5-7 6-4, the world no.53 Jack Draper 6-3 4-6 6-5 ret., the world no.15 Pablo Carreno-Busta 4-6 6-3 6-1 4-6 6-3 and the world no.25 Nick Kyrgios 7-5 4-6 7-5 6-7³ 6-4.

Karen Khachanov will fight against the world no.7 Casper Ruud in the semifinal. Their record is 1-0 for Ruud.

Karen was the finalist in Adelaide (Adelaide International 1).
