Serena Williams played what was most probably the last match of her incredible career on Friday night at the US Open. Serena lost to world no.46 Ajla Tomljanovic 7-5 6-7(4) 6-1 and emotions did run high soon after the end of the match.
Serena could not hold her tears during the on-court interview. She thanked her sister Venus Williams for how she inspired her during her career. Indeed, Venus won 7 slams and she was the one to impress the most at the beginning of their career. Eventually, Serena’s incredible competitive character made her become one of the greatest, but it was Venus to show the way.
This was Serena’s lovely message to Venus.
