Andreescu talks about issues with Nike outfit ahead of facing Haddad Maia in US Open 2nd round

Bianca Andreescu explains why she didn't like the Nike outfit

Andreescu Nike Outfit

Bianca Andreescu had an interesting first-round match at the US Open where she defeated Harmony Tan. There was a strange episode soon after the warm-up when the Canadian sensation asked the chair umpire to go and change her Nike outfit because it was “too bad.”

Bianca was struggling with the dresser that was creating issues when she was striking her forehands. Andreescu used some strong words “against the outfit” that could be interpreted not very well from the popular brand.

Eventually, Bianca apologized during the following press conference with the following statement:

“It was just bothering me on some forehands. I just felt like it was kind of coming up a bit. Obviously, the wind didn’t help.

But I meant no disrespect with what I said to the umpire. I was trying to convince him not to take away that washroom break because I know we only get two. He was very nice to say it was totally okay.”
