Genie Bouchard is the latest addition of the ASB Classic that will take place in Auckland. The Canadian will join the likes of Caroline Wozniacki, Julia Goerge, Venus Wiliams, and Vika Azarenka.
The good news is also that Genie doesn’t require a wildcard this time since her rank (88) allow her to have a direct admission.
Why Bouchard is happy to play in Auckland

“I am really excited to be coming back to Auckland. I came there when I was very young and remember it being so beautiful. I’ll be focused and ready to go, but I hope to see a little more of Auckland this time around.
I felt really strong in my last couple of tournaments and it was nice to reach a semi-final at the highest level again. I know how to be a top ten player and I feel like I’m doing all the right things to reach my goals in 2019.”

The defending champion is Julia Goerges that defeated Caroline Wozniacki in straight sets in the final.
When the tournament will be played
The WTA event will take place from the 31st of December to the 6th of January.
