Becker and Zverev

Boris Becker has been the coach of Novak Djokovic for a long time. Even if the German is still in fantastic terms with Novak, he was extremely happy to see that Sascha Zverev was able to beat the world no.1 after also defeating Roger Federer in the previous match.

Why Becker is sure that Zverev is the next big thing

During an interview with the BBC, the former world no.1 explained why he thinks that Sascha’s success at the ATP Finals is so important. Boris commented

“For years we have been saying tennis needs new faces and strong new players and he’s proved he is the best of the next generation.

Beating Novak Djokovic in the final was a big upset and a big victory for Sascha. It was the big match which we were all waiting for from him.

Yes. He’s beaten Djokovic and Federer before, but to beat them back-to-back in one of the biggest tournaments in the world tells him, most importantly, but also the world, that he is going to be the next big thing.”
