Sascha Zverev beats Roger Federer after playing a fantastic semifinal in London.
The match
Sascha appeared to be well set from the very beginning to constantly hold his service games without any problems. Eventually, the only difference in the opening set was that Federer all of the sudden played a horrible service game at the very end to be broken at love (7-5).
The Swiss Maestro looked to be in a much better position in the second set after he broke the German in the 3rd game (2-1), but things started to really go south for the world no.3 after he was broken immediately after (2-2). From that moment, Roger started to struggle with his nerves while Sascha conceded only 2 points in the following 4 service games.
Eventually, the affair went to the breaker. Roger conceded the decisive minibreak when he missed an extremely easy volley at the net while Zverev was hopeless in the rally (6-4). The Swiss saved the first match point, but Zverev was too good on the second to win the match 7-5 7-6 (5) in 1 hour and 35 minutes.
Sascha will face either Novak Djokovic or Kevin Anderson in the final. This was really a good match for him.
