Roger Federer is back on track in London.
The world no.3 shrugged off a bad loss in the first round against Kei Nishikori to later dismiss Dominic Thiem (6-2 6-3) and Kevin Anderson (6-4 6-3) in straight sets.
The match against Anderson
Roger Federer was eager to have a great performance against the South African also to grab the first place in his group.
The pair went toe to toe until the 6th game of the opening set (3-3) just before Anderson lost his service game at love (4-3 Federer). However, Federer lost his serve in the following game (4-4) just before breaking Anderson for the 2nd consecutive time at love again (5-4). Roger was in deep waters in the game after when he was 0-40. However, he found the way to win the next 5 points and the set (6-4).
The second set had a similar script with both players solid in the first part of the set. Then Roger won 4 consecutive games to reverse a 2-3 deficit in a 6-4 6-3 win. The match ended after 1 hour and 17 minutes.
After this contest, both Federer and Anderson qualified for the semifinals. Roger as no.1 and Kevin as no.2.
