Davenport and mythical Bollettieri inducted into the Hall of Fame

Former world no.1 Lindsay Davenport and the mythological American coach Nick Bollettieri are induced into the Halle of Fame in Newport

Davenport

Lindsay receives the award for her great career. The American has won 55 titles, 3 slams (Australian Open, Wimbledon and the US Open), 1 gold medal at the Olympic games in Atlanta 1996 and 1 Season Finale

The American commented “I’m so honored by this incredible recognition. I feel very blessed to have had a wonderful tennis career, and now to be recognized alongside the great champions who have always inspired me is just a tremendous honor.”

Bollettieri

Nick is definitely one of the greatest tennis coaches in tennis history. Bollettieri has developed a score of great players such as Agassi, Courier, Seles and Pierce. Nick has also worked with big guns such as Sharapova, Jankovic, Lisicki, Hantuchova, Errani, Serena and Venus Williams, Hingis, Kournikova, Nishikori, Mirnyi, Rios and Becker.

Nick commented “This is not a Nick Bollettieri award. This award belongs to all of you, all of the people. And this award became possible by people saying, Nick, you can’t do it. When anybody says, Nick, you can’t do it, that’s when I did it.

But no one can do it without teamwork. It just doesn’t happen. So I’m very blessed to have had the players, my friends who bailed me out many times. And I have been bailed out many times. But this award is far more than anybody could ever dream for. I want to thank all of you for the publicity both complimentary and not complimentary. My daddy said, ‘Son, when they’re talking about you, baby, they’re thinking about you.”

Well deserved!
