Roger Federer had a rather disappointing start of his London campaign after he was defeated in his opening match by Kei Nishikori in straight sets.
However, the Swiss Maestro is used to cope with both triumphs and disappointments, and he has found the recipe to get back on his feet (again) in his second match against Dominic Thiem to win in straight sets after playing a very good tennis.
The match
Roger started immediately well with a break in the 3rd game (2-1) that set the tone of the match. The Swiss doubled-up his advantage after breaking Thiem again in the 7th game (5-2) before winning the opener 6-2.
Federer started the second set in the best possible way after breaking the Austrian in the very first game (1-0). That was enough for Federer to go on and win the match 6-2 6-3 in 66 minutes.
Federer won 62 points vs. Thiem’s 40, and he didn’t concede a single break point for the entire match.

Next vs. Anderson
Roger will face Kevin Anderson in his last match. The head to head is 4-1 for Federer that has always defeated the South African in straight sets with the exception of their last match in Wimbledon when Roger was leading 2 sets to love, and after he missed a match point, he lost in 5.
