Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal were meant to play an extremely controversial exhibition on the 22nd of December in Saudi Arabia.
Both players were harshly criticized for taking part in an event organized by the government especially after the infamous assassination of Jamal Khashoggi.

Nadal and Djokovic’s problem was that they already committed, but eventually, they found the perfect and most predictable excuse: Nadal’s injury.
In fact, Rafa has recently been operated to his right ankle and he will not be able (officially) to take part in the exhibition.
No surprise in this.
