Things are becoming serious in America!
The US Open organization has announced a steep increase (11.7%) in prize money for 2014. The total figure will be $38.3 million. The overall target is to reach $50 million by 2017.

USTA Chairman Dave Haggerty commented “Last year to recognize the importance of the players and the key role they have in building our sport, the USTA shared our vision to reach $50 million in prize money at the US Open by 2017,”
