Federer criticizes Wimbledon over strict dressing code!

WOW…Roger Federer, the “Wimbledon hero” and one of the most stylish guys on tour, now criticizes the Championships for its all-white policy.

Last year Federer was told to replace his shoes in Wimbledon because they had an orange sole that wasn’t complying with the rules (see article).  Roger said that from some pictures of the past (Edberg and Becker) there was some colors, so exceptions might be permissible.

Richard Lewis, the All England Club CEO said that ”the rule is almost entirely in white. We felt the time was right to make accessories such as undergarments, headbands and wristbands consistent with the policy we were applying to the shirts, shorts and socks,”

Roger: they are too strict

Federer commented ”My personal opinion, I think it’s too strict. But I respect. I understand. Maybe one day they’ll loosen up the grip again a bit, but that’s the time we go through right now. ”
